Jacob Nordby had a dream to be a writer at age 10 but abandoned it in pursuit of piles of cash until he had a transformational personal breakdown-breakthrough in early midlife.

During this session, Jacob will share details from his absolutely “broke” beginnings as a writer – including his first hot mess of a free WordPress blog that helped him get started, his first foray into self-publishing during which he paid his editor with spare computer parts (this is a true story), and how he grew an audience by finding his authentic voice and learning to overcome crippling anxiety to share with the world.

Jacob will also share his Author Platform Assessment that will help you gain clarity about your unique style and how you want to interact with the public.

As a former long-time Marketing Director for a self help/spirituality publisher, and having published both indie and traditionally published books, Jacob will share insights from both sides of that fence. Like the other teachers, Jacob will share a list of his favorite resources for manuscript design, cover design, and other ways that you can produce professional quality books on a budget.

Meet the teacher:

Author of The Divine Arsonist (indie), Blessed Are the Weird (indie), The Creative Cure (traditional), and co-author or contributing author in several other books, Jacob developed a deep love for fellow creatives and founded the Heal + Create community platform to invite everyone into the experience of healing and creating the lives they are meant to live.

Jacob will teach from his experience as a self- and traditionally-published author – and from his years of work as Marketing Director for a traditional publisher.
